Title - Patna Metro rail dream to come true in Bihar

In order to fulfill Chief Minister Nitish Kumar's dream of Metro train service in Patna, Bihar moved a step closer as the state cabinet on Tuesday nodded for the proposal to prepare a detailed project report (DPR) for the same. Cabinet Secretary Brajesh Mehrotra while to the media persons in Patna told that state cabinet has selected Rail India Technical and Economic Service (RITES) for preparing the DPR for metro services in the city. "RITES will prepare DPR for the Metro rail in Patna," he said. Earlier, the state government had said that Metro rail would come into effect in Patna by 2016. The initial stage of the project is set to cover a distance of 40 km and is estimated to cost Rs.8,000 crore.
