Title - K-K line operations restored

Traffic on the Kothavalasa – Kirandul (K-K) line, which had come to a standstill following landslips and washing away of track, has been restored after a gap of 13 days.The 1 VK Passenger from Kirandul came on November 13 while the 1 VK Passenger from Visakhapatnam left Visakahpatnam on the previous day. This train, which passes through tunnels, offers a memorable ride to hundreds of tourists to Araku.

Loss

The K-K line is also the lifeline for the movement of iron ore. It’s learnt that the Railways incurred a loss of Rs.2 crore to Rs.3 crore a day during the last two weeks.
