Title - Fog posts, speed limit for trains

Phagwara: Northern Railways has set up ‘fog signal posts’ near all railway stations to ensure smooth running of trains during fog. Stating this, sources in the railways said railway employees would give clearance signals to train drivers by bursting crackers on railway lines during fog.Also, the authorities have reduced the maximum speed limit of all diesel multiple unit (DMU) trains due to security reasons. Sources said all DMUs could not run at the maximum speed of 100 km per hour. —
