“Train Captain” services have been introduced on Nilgiri Express by Salem division to address passenger’s grievances on board instantly. Travelling ticket Inspectors will serve as train captain and will do grievance redressal onboard. Southern railways has already begun this service on few trains. DRM of Salem division has given the order to introduce this service in Blue Mountain (Nilgiri) Express. This train runs from Mettupalayam too Chennai Central. There will be three train captains in the train with whom passengers can contact on mobile. The nominated captains are –
Their name and mobile number will be displayed on reservation chart and the authorities have also planned to send these numbers to passengers via SMS. Train Captain will also be overall in charge of the train from end to end and will be responsible for ensuring passengers amenities throughout the train which includes cleanliness of coaches, toilets, working of fan, light, mobile charging point etc. |
